For me, Saint John is synonymous to family, coming to work feels like being at home.
Coordinating preschool is an adventure, where every day we learn something new. My job is to watch over students' holistic development, accompany them in their learning process, take care of their emotional well-being, as well as to help the parents with strategies that enhance their children's strengths.
At Saint John’s preschool level, children have the opportunity to acquire new knowledge through play and develop an active exploration that will allow them to relate what they have learned with the environment around them. We care about the collective and individual interests of our students, giving the opportunity to the development of different learning styles and thus ensuring that the children achieve the objectives established in each grade. The children's smiles are the most gratifying reward at the end of the day.
In preschool we work with an English curriculum that allows us to promote the language from the youngest to the oldest, allowing them to discover new words and how to use them. We also have a curriculum of Spanish as a second language.
And as Ever Garrison says: a teacher is a compass that activates the magnets of curiosity, knowledge and wisdom in the students.
